China sourcing coordination

An independent route to steel building suppliers

Morton Buildings is the name of this independent China sourcing service. We are not the original brand website or an authorized distributor.

An independent route to steel building suppliers

Our review sequence

  1. Define the design basis

We first ask for project country, code basis, wind and snow criteria, seismic requirements, clear span, eave height and intended use. A warehouse and a hangar can require different door, load and foundation interfaces.

  2. Align supplier submissions

We ask candidates to state steel grade, section system, connections, surface treatment and panel specifications. Where an offer lacks a value, the gap is recorded for clarification rather than interpreted as acceptance.

  3. Document the decision

Comparison notes, supplier evidence requests and inspection coordination records create a reviewable handover. The selected supplier and relevant engineers remain responsible for manufacturing claims and project compliance.

What guides the work

Comparable evidence

Price only matters once scope, loads, finishes and exclusions are aligned.

Open assumptions

Unknown site conditions are listed before any engineering promise.

Clear ownership

Supplier, independent inspector and local design professional roles stay distinct.

Coordination roles

Sourcing review

Commercial coordination

Collects the same commercial terms and delivery scope from each candidate.

Technical document review

Document coordination

Tracks drawings, material evidence and inspection requests for buyer review.

Evidence to request, not assumed credentials

Supplier capabilities, certificates and compliance documents are verified against each sourcing request. Ask for dated material certificates, welding records, coating checks and applicable system test reports.

Our operating model is deliberately narrow. We do not certify a frame, own a production line or promise that a preliminary quote will satisfy local building codes. We collect and organize information for a buyer to evaluate. A supplier may present a design for one load combination while another includes different snow or crane assumptions; the apparent price difference is then a scope difference. We document that distinction and ask the buyer to appoint the appropriate engineering reviewer before award.
